Members of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Peekskill held a School Supply Drive throughout the month of August to benefit students and families of the Peekskill City School District.
As part of the church's mission to be a good neighbor to its community, members of the congragation collected a total of 15 backpacks, 14 boxes of pencils, 19 Marble notebooks, 21 boxes of pens, 28 spiral note books, 19 packages of folders, 10 boxes of crayons, 9 packages of loose leaf paper, 6 packages of glue sticks, 3 calculators, and a host of other supplies.
The goal of the school supply drive was to support our school children by providing them with some of the tools they need for a successful school year, recognizing how the tough economic climate is making it more difficult for families throughout Peekskill.
