LECTOR MINISTRY

The Ministry of Lector is one of the most visible roles of service at liturgy. Scripture reading becomes the living word of God. Lectors know that to read the word of God is a privilege and an honor. As such it is a duty that the lectors take seriously.

Our goal as readers is to be at Church as scheduled, prepared to do our very best reading so that God’s word is clearly understood. It is important that our reading is done well and read with understanding as this will provide comprehension and insight to our congregants. Prepare to read by praying about it. Ask God to open the meaning of the text to you and to speak to you through it.
