MISSION AND OUTREACH

Serve One Another

Looking back, it was a remarkable year. It was a year of thanks and a celebration of gratitude. Because of this ministry, residents at the Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peekskill found joy in the gifts that were wrapped and given to them. Our ministry contributed $500 to the Episcopal Relief and Development Organization to help combat poverty, hunger, and disease. We also sent a generous donation to help the people in the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East through the Good Friday Offering program. We believe that there is no better way to thank God for all our blessings than to reach out and help someone else.

We have a noontime meals program which provides a hot lunch daily for anyone desiring it. Meals are served at the Salvation Army Building in Peekskill. The average number of meals served monthly in the summer is more than 1600. During the winter months, it increases to more than 3500. St. Peter's prepares the meals for every third Wednesday and fifth Friday of the month. The food is prepared at St. Peter's on the Tuesday and Thursday evening prior to the serving. Meals are prepared by volunteers and all are welcome to help with the preparation. We are always in need of volunteers.
